Arvo Animation is gearing up to bring Shun Numa’s comedic manga to the screen.
The upcoming anime adaptation, titled “Super Psychic Policeman Chojo,” is officially set to premiere on October 6, with the release date confirmed via the project’s official Twitter/X account.
Set in West Tinjuku—a fictionalized twist on Tokyo’s vibrant Shinjuku ward—the story follows rookie police officer Nao Ippongi. He is partnered with Meguru Chojo, an eccentric cop equipped with telepathy and various other extraordinary psychic gifts. The catch? Chojo would rather use his supernatural talents for almost anything other than actual police work. However, his lazy streak comes to an end when the yakuza threaten Ippongi’s family dojo, forcing the psychic to finally take his duties seriously. Together, the mismatched duo tackles crime, arrests offenders, and navigates the chaotic everyday realities of law enforcement.

The series is rooted in Shun Numa’s original manga of the same name, which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from February 2024 through June 2025, spanning 65 chapters compiled across eight volumes.
Behind the scenes, Arvo Animation handles the production. The creative team features director Jun’ichi Yamamoto (known for The Duke’s Contractual Bride), scriptwriter Hayashi Mori (recognized for Cells at Work! Code Black), and character designer Masakatsu Sasaki (noted for Sixteenbit Sensation: Another Layer).
