The official X (formerly Twitter) account for the television anime adaptation of Shun Numa’s manga, Super Psychic Policeman Chojo (Chōjun! Chōjō Senpai), announced on Tuesday that the series is scheduled to premiere on October 6 at 11:00 p.m. JST (10:00 a.m. EDT) across Kansai TV, Fuji TV, and their nationwide affiliated networks.
Viz Media and Shueisha’s MANGA Plus platform began simultaneously releasing English chapters of the manga alongside its Japanese debut in February 2024. Providing an overview of the plot, MANGA Plus states:
The creator of Samon the Summoner returns to Weekly Shonen Jump with a brand-new series centered around an extraordinary lawman! In the sleepless district of Chinjuku operates Meguru Chojo, a senior police officer endowed with mind-bending psychic abilities. Teamed up with Nao Ippongi, a skilled judo expert, this comedic duo will stop at nothing to maintain order on the streets!
Junichi Yamamoto (known for Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke’s Mansion, Maebashi Witches, and Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You) is directing the project at Arvo Animation. Hayashi Mori (Sand Land: The Series, Cells at Work! Code Black, Onmyo Kaiten Re:Birth Verse) is handling the series scripts and composition, while Masakatsu Sasaki (16bit Sensation: Another Layer, Seiyu’s Life!, TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You) is in charge of character designs.
