It has been a phenomenal year for franchise enthusiasts. Between the official unveiling of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 at Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 and January’s announcement of Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol, the pipeline is packed with thrilling content. Next on the horizon is Dragon Ball Super: Beerus—marking the fourth adaptation of the character’s iconic introduction—which is currently scheduled to debut in fall 2026. Recently, fans may have received their very first clue regarding its exact release timing.
The official Dragon Ball portal announced on Friday that the franchise will make its traditional return to New York Comic Con this October. Regular attendees will recognize this as par for the course; the brand consistently anchors a massive, highly visible booth right near the convention entrance, stacked with exclusive merchandise and interactive displays. These booths are typically anchored by a towering character statue out front, much like the giant inflatable Orange Piccolo that greeted crowds in 2023.
According to the official announcement, the space will be “filled with tons of exhibits, featuring Dragon Ball games, figures, and even the new Dragon Ball Super: Beerus anime that’s premiering this fall.” While simply stating that the booth will highlight the series doesn’t clarify whether attendees will see exclusive merchandise or rare behind-the-scenes artwork, precedent suggests that a major convention presence often points to a launch that is just around the corner.
Consider the rollout for the franchise’s last major animated project. Dragon Ball Daima made its official Japanese television debut on October 11, 2024. Just a week later, it commanded a dedicated panel at New York Comic Con on October 17. That event featured Goku’s voice actor, Stephanie Nadolny, alongside the reveal of Aaron Dismuke as the English voice of Glorio and a showcase of unreleased Akira Toriyama concept art, all culminating in an early screening of the series premiere.
If Toei Animation follows a similar playbook, audiences could experience a heavy focus on Dragon Ball Super: Beerus timed directly with its launch. Although the studio has kept an exact premiere date under wraps beyond the broader autumn window, October fits squarely into that timeframe.
While official NYCC panel schedules are still pending, a dedicated showcase for the universe seems entirely possible. At the very least, convention-goers can likely expect a massive inflatable statue of the God of Destruction himself standing guard over the exhibition floor.
